Christ-vie Kubanza was reported missing on Friday afternoon when her father was unable to reach her on the phone.

Police confirmed that the 19-year-old had been located in Rosebank early on Sunday afternoon:

“She is not harmed in any way but she has been taken to hospital for evaluation."

When the teen had not returned home at 19:00 on Friday her family had tried for three hours to contact her to no avail, Briefly.co.za gathered.

The Citizen reported that Kubanza may have been spotted at two local restaurants on the day she went missing:

“At this stage, preliminary investigations reveal that the missing teen could have spent some time on Friday 11 October 2019 around 14h00 at Chicken Licken on Campus Square, whereafter she is believed to have moved to Wimpy and could have stayed there until around 19h00 on the same day."

When her student card and bus pass had been found discarded in a dustbin near the university, people had feared the worst, but thankfully that was not the case.

Authorities have urged students to travel in groups to study venues, rather than venturing out alone.
