- Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was left fuming following his team's 4-2 loss at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs
- The Amakhosi achieved the favourable result in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup on Saturday
- Mosimane made wholesale changes for the cup clash, but promises a huge improvement when they face Chiefs in two weeks' time
Goals were flowing in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup on Saturday, but it was Mamelodi Sundowns who were on the receiving end.
Kaizer Chiefs notched an impressive 4-2 victory over the Brazilians and coach Pitso Mosimane was less than impressed.
Briefly.co.za noted that Mosimane made wholesale changes as he brought in the likes of Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa.
However, it was the old boys who came back to bite Sundowns as Leonardo Castro scored an impressive hat-trick and assisted Khama Billiat to score the other goal.
The Daily Sun reported that Mosimane took the result personally and has vowed revenge in two weeks' time.
Mosimane said, “Castro and Billiat came back to bite me. But see you in two weeks’ time. I can assure you it will be a completely different ball game. We lost a game, not a friendly."
The Downs mentor was seemingly upset that his defence conceded four goals and emphasised that Sundowns can still outscore Chiefs.
However, Mosimane accepted the loss as he added: “There is no excuse, Chiefs beat us fair and square."
Perhaps Mosimane decided to employ some early mind games, but he tipped Chiefs as title favourites due to his team's CAF Champions League commitments.
