The 'Money-man' as he is fondly referred to, treated himself to a delicious meal at Catch eatery in the company of 16 friends to celebrate a birthday recently.

Having appeared to have enjoyed his meal at the restaurant, the 42-year-old decided to find his way to the kitchen and show appreciation to the cooks by handing them close to R5 000 each.

An insider told Page Six: "He personally thanked everyone. The cooks were ecstatic and thankful!"

Catch describe themselves on their website as: "The go-to dining destination for celebrities from Los Angeles to New York City, CATCH is the only location to bring epic renditions of Asian-influenced sushi, seafood and steak to The Strip."

A 2.5lb Cantonese lobster at the restaurant will set a patron back R1 729, or if you prefer steak, there are American Wagyu Tomahawk steaks available for R2 907.

In other news, Mayweather seems to have abandoned plans to take part in an exhibition fight in China in order to negotiate a rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

Hong Kong's DEF Promotions director Jay Lau told The Sun: "Mayweather came two times to Hong Kong, he spoke with my son Jayson and we had communications but now he is focusing [on] the Pacquiao rematch.

"We were talking about an exhibition in China, a big event but not a recorded professional boxing fight. Something like Mayweather vs Tenshin in Japan."

"We spoke a bit about doing a special fight in China, but halfway through he turned to the Pacquiao rematch so we stopped."

Last month the Filipino told The National: "My people are talking to his people, they’re talking to each other. "We don’t know what the developments are, because I don’t have an update yet."
