- Bahumi Madisakwane will play the role of a young Lebo Mathosa in the film based on her life, Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story
- This news was met with a lot of cynicism because Bahumi is the daughter of celeb Somizi and news anchor, Palesa Madisakwane
- However, social media users want the critics to give Bahumi a chance to show what's she got
A biopic based on the life of Lebo Mathosa is in the works and roles has been assigned - the role of a young Lebo will be played by Bahumi Madisakwane, daughter of the popular Idols SA judge and entertainer, Somizi.
However, since the news broke that Bahumi will be starring in the film, Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story, the young actress found herself getting dragged.
Many people are claiming that she's been given the role solely because of who her parents are, despite the fact that she had to audition like everyone else.
The judgment and criticism got really bad, but Somizi made sure to tell Bahumi she should just ignore the negative vibes.
Social media users are calling on SA to stop judging Bahumi prematurely and let her take this chance to shine.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Kelly Khumalo will no longer play the role of adult Lebo.
Apparently, Kelly’s emotions got too much and her sassy attitude left a sour taste in producers' mouths, which led to her getting booted.
Actress KB Motsilanyane will now be taking over the role, according to TimesLIVE.
Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story will premiere on BET Africa on 6 November.
