Umhlobo Wenene FM's DJ Zola Kaso-Majiza sadly passed away earlier. She had been battling an illness, according to a report by HeraldLIVE.

TimesLIVE reported that the DJ's passing was confirmed on Thursday morning (17 October) on the Ibrakfesi Eyondlayo Ekuseni Show by DJ Pastor.

However, the details are still hazy and new information should be available soon.

Meanwhile, fans of the radio station and the 67-year-old DJ have been deeply moved by her death.

She was seen as a legend in the industry and her death will leave a gigantic hole in it as well as in the hearts of those who looked up to her.

This news comes shortly after Briefly.co.za reported that US boxing icon, Patrick Day, passed away on Wednesday, 16 October after a knock-out fight against Charles Conwell.

Making it all the way to the 10th round of his match, Day sustained fatal traumatic brain injuries and was rushed off to hospital on a stretcher after Conwell left him motionless in the arena, but doctors could do nothing to reverse the injuries.
