- Nicholas Ninow will spend the rest of his life behind bars and Mzansi is rejoicing
- After an emotionally draining trial, the nation feels that justice has, at last, been served
- Citizens took to social media to revel in the system working for the people
Judge Mokhine Mosopa is somewhat of a national hero this afternoon as the nation heard that Nicholas Ninow would spend the rest of his life excluded from society.
Briefly.co.za reported that Mosopa had handed down the sentence after two days of hearings, listening to expert testimony in the matter.
While a central excuse had been a life of abuse, drug use and hardship, Mosopa had felt Ninow did little to show true remorse, but rather regretted the situation and not the action.
South Africans had learnt with horror that a 7-year-old had been raped in the bathroom of a Dros restaurant, with a clip of Ninow going viral following the incident.
While the victim in this matter will probably never be able to undo the scarring caused, some solace can be found in the fact that her nightmares of Ninow returning will never come true.
Citizens shared their views on the matter in social media posts, thankful that justice had run its course.
Take a look at what they had to say below:
