- AKA is all for supporting local products, especially when it comes to music
- He recently took SAA on for not playing music by local artists on their flights
- It's not the first time that the rapper has mentioned his unhappiness with the situataw
Rapper AKA isn't impressed with SAA - he feels the airline is neglecting South African artists.
Taking to social media, he made sure everyone sees how displeased he was by tagging the airline and telling them just how disgraceful he thinks they are.
AKA was not holding back, that's for sure. And according to ZAlebs, this isn't the first time he's addressed the issue, he did so last year as well.
"Dear @flysaa why do you play ANYTHING that is NOT SOUTH AFRICAN in our planes? Please explain to us why I am listening to Michael Buble as I disembark? Disgraceful.
"You are embarrassing us @flysaa. When people from overseas land in our country, out of all the great artists from OUR rich musical history, you play and presumably PAY royalties to people that have NOTHING to do with South Africa?"
Briefly.co.za noticed that the airline responded to AKA's tweets, telling him that they're working on bettering their service.
"We hear you. We know that this is amongst many other things is something we need to fix. We are working on making flying SAA truly flying RSA and by making one little change at a time we want to make you proud to #flysaa. Izandla ziyagezana, your criticism is our motivation."
Check out what other social media users had to say to AKA's tweets:
"That's so true."
"Leadership bhova, artists in the old days were in the forefront of the struggles, you have picked up the baton."
"As much as I want to agree with you cos I am a big fan of yours... You not the only 1 who uses flysaa... some of us prefer xix international and local... also why do you wear international brands... why don't you support local brands??? Be the example that you ask of others..."
