Black Coffee has made international headlines for his performances in Dubai with the city using his shows as a unique reason to visit the desert city.

Briefly.co.za learned that the world-renowned DJ and producer played at the prestigious BASE where only the best of the best performed. Black Coffee shared the weekend spotlight with Rick Ross who played on Friday while Black Coffee took the stage on Saturday, arguably the best night to perform.

He posted a short clip on Twitter saying farewell to the city as he made his way to LA where he is scheduled to play the US leg of his world tour, including a stop in Montreal, Canada.

The world-famous DJ has humble origins, born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo on the 11th of March 1976. He shot to fame in 2004 after participating in the Red Bull Music Academy held in Cape Town.

In 2015 he won the "Breakthrough DJ of the Year" at Ibiza during the DJ Awards.
