Sir Elton John is not about the remake of The Lion King. Having been a part of the original film, he feels there was no need to remake a masterpiece.

The remake of The Lion King created a lot of excitement around the globe. Allowing people to relive precious childhood memories in a modern light made the remake that much more exciting.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Elton came forward and labelled the 2019 remake a complete and utter “disappointment".

Speaking to British GQ, Elton explained that the remake did not live up to the wild expectations that everyone had. He feels that the music was nowhere near as special it should have been and that “the magic and joy were lost".

Pointing out that the soundtrack did not even make a mark in music charts, Elton feels that originals, like him, should have been more involved in the remake.

"I wish I'd been invited to the party more, but the creative vision for the film and its music was different this time around and I wasn't really welcomed or treated with the same level of respect. That makes me extremely sad." he said.

Elton is not the only original who has critiqued the film harshly. David Stephan, the original The Lion King animator, like Elton, feels that there was no need for a remake and that it was actually a slap in the faces of the original crew.
