Prophet Shepherd Bushiri told 20 000 men from all over the world that it was their responsibility to protect women.
The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) leader condemned the plight of gender-based violence (GBV) crippling the country.
While addressing his thousands of followers at the ECG's Iron Man Conference hosted at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg over the weekend, Bushiri told the men they were created to protect women.
"God created man to protect women, but it’s painful to note that we, men, are not living up to that responsibility."
Bushiri called on the 20 000 attendees to step up and do their part in stopping GBV.
Briefly.co.za learned Major One titled the event "Knocked Down, But Not Knocked Out", and he focussed on motivating men to reclaim leadership through spiritual development.
