A man shared how an honest woman recently returned his uninsured phone valued at R8 000. He had lost it on the beach and the stranger was able to safely return it to him.

Slu Jama Noqha shared his story on the "ImStaying" Facebook group. He lost his phone on Blouberg beach. The Huawei P20 - valued at R8 000 - was not insured, so it makes sense that the man was panic-stricken when he realised it was gone.

He asked his friend to dial his number and it rang.

"My phone was answered by the young white lady who told me that she picked up it. The lady was together with her parents and they waited for me."

The woman returned the phone to the relieved owner.

"Thank you to that family. It is not about black or white but Ubuntu. May the Lord richly bless you."

In a beautiful turn of fate, the woman who found the phone was also in the "ImStaying" group and responded to the post. Monique Brummelkamp said:

"It was such a pleasure helping you today. I am so happy that we could get your phone safely back to you. It was great meeting you, and I agree with you, it is not about whether we are black or white or any other colour for that matter, we should always look out for one another, no matter what."

Other social media users were impressed by the act of honesty and kindness. Facebook user Veronica Xoliswa Nobula Kalubi said:

"Yhooo Mntase that's a blessing. It takes people like Monique Brummelkamp to make this country a better place. #ImStaying"
