- After Herman Mashaba resigned as the mayor of Johannesburg, many were left wondering what his next move would be
- The politician has been lauded as a hero by Mmusi Maimane and his withdrawal was met with disappointment by the EFF
- Mashaba has revealed what's in the pipeline for the foreseeable future and it seems politics is off the table
People have been pondering what Mashaba has planned now that he has left the opposition party and he has finally revealed what the game plan is.
In a social media post addressing the speculation over his political future, Mashaba cleared the air:
"I've noted speculation about my political future. I'd like to clarify that, while I respect political parties I've worked in JHB, I won't be joining any political party. My interest is to serve the residents of Joburg to the best of my abilities until 27 November and then get some rest."
In response to Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, who thanked him for his BlackLikeMe hair products, Mashaba said:
"Thanks, Felicia. Now that I will have my life back, will surely catch up again soon."
Before venturing into politics Mashaba had established himself as a successful businessman, despite the restrictions of the apartheid-era.
Briefly.co.za reported that Helen Zille had made some questionable comments when she compared his experience during the oppression of the regime.
Zille hinted that while Mashaba was making a name for himself, she was hiding struggle veterans at home. This had earned her a lashing from EFF chairperson Dali Mpofu, who condemned her connotation.
