- Thembinkosi Lorch has dropped Mickey Paiva as his agent
- The 26-year-old revealed that he hasn't chosen another agent yet
- Lorch's father opened up about his difficult season, showing support for the Pirates player
Thembinkosi Lorch is a free player after terminating his contract with his now-former agent, Micky Paiva.
The 26-year-old Orlando Pirates player revealed that he dumped Paiva after he failed to secure him an international deal during the August transfer window.
Lorch, who has not yet chosen another agent, now hopes to get someone to help him secure a spot in an overseas team in the upcoming transfer window.
The Bucs player told The Sowetan that he was still deciding what to do going forward.
Briefly.co.za learned one of the agents many believe should represent Lorch is Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse.
"I am close with Karabo because she is the one who first took me to Pirates," he said.
Lorch added Karabo still helps him out even though he had not signed a contract with her. The publication contacted Paiva for a comment but he has not responded to questions.
Standing behind his son's decision is Lorch's dad, Teboho Mokoena. The proud dad admitted his son's performance was affected this season by the sudden exit of Milutin Sredojevic and the failure to land an international contract.
"At the age for 51 I still play football and I can see when a player is not alright. As his father I know his mood was a bit down but I tried to motivate him to continue working hard," Mokoena said.
The supportive dad said he's happy to see Lorch is back to form in the game against Cape Town City and he believes things are only about to get better.
