Mosimane regards him as a true number 9 striker who can hold up play with his physicality.

Most fans have marvelled at the Uruguayan's aerial ability and power, but he's more than just a one-trick pony according to Mosimane.

KickOff.com reported that Mosimane credits Affonso's towering strength, but that he also admires his footwork.

The Downs mentor explained the rationale behind the signing.

Mosimane said, "We brought him to help us in the Champions League because in Champions League we always struggle in height with opponents."

Mosimane touched on Affonso's header against Cote d'Or in the CAF Champions League where his power in the air gave him the edge.

However, Mosimane added: "Affonso can play with his feet. What you see is his strength. You must see him when he plays with his feet, he is okay."
