The Botswana Democratic Party has once again been elected as the ruling party in the neighbouring country.
In a statement released by Botswana's government, Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has been declared the outright winner for the 2019 General Elections, Briefly.co.za gathered.
eNCA reports that the BDP has enjoyed a lengthy time at the helm of the country, serving as the ruling party since independence from Britain was achieved in 1966.
IEC spokesman Osupile Maroba responded to allegations of irregularities put forward by the opposition party UDC:
"The law is there for everyone to [seek] redress where necessary and the process will be allowed to take its course to the conclusion of the matter."
Maroba is adamant that no complaints have been lodged with the entity despite the allegations.
