- On Thursday, a cash-in-transit van was robbed in Marabastad
- The aftermath of the CIT heist was caught on video
- Locals rushed to the van to loot their share of money
On Thursday, CIT robbers struck again, robbing a van in Marabastad, Tshwane. The aftermath of the heist was filmed and the footage is disturbing.
Hundreds of locals ran to the van, nearly trampling each other, to get their share of what's left of the van's loot.
The video was shared on Intelligence Bureau SA's Facebook page and it quickly went viral.
The video was captioned:
"CIT robbery yesterday afternoon in Marabastad, Tshwane. Community stealing cash as well."
South Africans were shocked by the community's behaviour, dubbing it "lawless" and a prime example of a "fallen state".
Castro Mohare commented:
"There is no justification for taking what's not yours."
Matora Mbewe added:
"Symptoms of a fallen state."
Alfred Harris wrote:
"What's wrong with our brothers and sisters in SA? It looks like SA needs more rehabilitation centres, the mindset is just so wrong. Not being political but SA needs strong leaders."
Take a look at the video below:
It is not the first time locals looted what was left in a CIT van following a heist. Earlier this year, Briefly.co.za reported on yet another video showing motorists finishing what the CIT robbers started.
