It's no secret that Mmusi Maimane is a man who loves God - he and his wife even met at church. However, after he stepped down as the leader of the DA, South Africans started seeing him as more than just a politician.
On Friday, Twitter parody account Man's Not Barry Roux shared a video of Maimane preaching a powerful message.
The former DA leader oozes charisma as he speaks about carrying a vision for the nation, for families and for the church.
Maimane's message moved those in attendance - literally. People stood up and applauded the politician as he spoke, Briefly.co.za gathered.
Social media users were in awe of the charismatic former DA leader's ability to preach the word of God.
Twitter user, @Kokie_e, commented:
"Mmusi can give Bushiri a run for his money."
Another tweep, @Ndele43, added:
"Yes and I like this side of him more than the politician."
Social media user, @SiyaMtitshana, wrote:
"He preaches better than most pastors."
Twitter user, @zwai_ndimba, said:
"Yey, this one can take me back to church, I won't lie."
The video was shared after Maimane announced his resignation as the leader of the DA. Maimane's decision followed Herman Mashaba stepping down as the mayor of Johannesburg following the appointment of Helen Zille as the chairperson of the DA's federal council.
