Benni McCarthy has admitted that his job may very well be on the line if Cape Town City fails to win their next match.
The club has only won one game out of 13 since April, placing them at 12th place in the Premier League Soccer rankings.
Briefly.co.za learned that McCarthy does not know why the club is performing so badly and he has never been in this situation before.
“Of course I’m worried, I’ve never been in this situation before. The longer it goes on, the more desperate it all becomes,” the coach said.
He knows that the club management are expecting things to change and if they don't changes will be made. His job probably one of the first of those changes according to the sowetanlive.co.za
“There are going to have to be changes and it will probably start with me, and rightfully so. Maybe it needs someone else to come and change things around,” he said.
One of issues McCarthy has identified is that he feels that players are too concerned with showing off their moves on the field and forgetting what needs to be done to pull them out of the lull they are currently experiencing.
The team is currently facing a number of crises, of leadership, desperation and low morale.
