Mzansi actor, Andile Gumbi, died at the age of 36. The former Isibaya actor suffered a massive heart attack and was rushed to an Israeli hospital where he was resuscitated but had slipped into a coma for a week.

He was working on a production in Israel, Daniel The Musical, when he complained of feeling tired and then went into fatal cardiac arrest.

Mzansi Magic confirmed Andile's passing on 25 October, bringing the sad news to Mzansi.

However, the nation will still be able to see the actor on their screens for a while longer.

SABC has announced that it will continue to air episodes of Makoti in which Andile will be seen as Pastor Siyabonga.

Briefly.co.za gathered from a report by TimesLIVE that the entire cast of Daniel The Musical tended to Andile while he was in hospital.

A close friend of the late actor, Thokozani Nzima said he was there when he was taken to hospital.

"I was there when we took him to the hospital ... His life was cut short just when his star was rising."
