A man had been on a motorcycle drive with his pup on Sunday when he spotted a white Mercedes-Benz following him.

He returned home and instructed his son to take the dog inside the house. The next harrowing moments were caught on video.

The white Mercedes-Benz stops in front of the man's Lonehill house and a suspected robber gets out.

The thug pulls out a gun and starts shooting at the motorcyclist. However, the man does not back down and little did the robber know, he was also armed.

Pulling out a gun, the man starts shooting at the thug, who decides to retreat to his getaway vehicle.

“When I saw the gun I knew it was a robbery, [I] drew mine and started firing,” Times LIVE reported he said.

The video has since gone viral and was shared on several social media accounts, including @crimeairnetwork on Twitter.

The post was captioned:

"They tried, he showed them. Lonehill, Johannesburg, GP."
