Idols SA winner Yanga Sobetwa ditches matric exams for music

Yanga Sobetwa, 2018 winner of Idols season 14, decided to skip out on her matric exams to focus on her music career.

Matric is a very important time in anyone’s life. It is a stepping stone that opens the door to the rest of your life, but not for Yanga.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the young star sacrificed her matric for music and feels it is what she was meant to do, reported Isolezwe.

Yanga’s decision has not been taken lightly and many have frowned upon it. Being a role model for young people and not completing your matric is definitely not a good look.

Sphelele Dludla, a journalist, posted a screenshot on social media that makes it look like Yanga regrets her decision.

Yanga, however, responded to the post making it clear that she has no regrets.

Since winning idols, Yanga has released an album and her career as a gospel singer has taken off.
