It's a refreshing change to see the police giving cold drinks to motorists instead of accepting them.
Mzansi social media users had a good laugh at this recent initiative by the JPMD together with Coca Cola. They handed out beverages to commuters and encouraged safety on the roads.
The video of the charitable moment was shared by JPMD Chief of Police, David Tembe, on his Twitter page. The footage was captioned:
"No Cold Drink for #MetroPolice! Today we are giving out Cold drinks to motorist & commuters all thanks to @CocaCola_ZA. Report any Misconduct by our @JoburgMPD officers on the Anti Corruption Hotline 0800 203 712"
The post was well-received by social media users. Twitter user Matoti_Maliks said:
"Location please, I am very thirsty."
"Why it only happens when I am not driving?"
"Well done. I hope you don’t collect them back at next roadblock."
"Ohh so that's the reason they no longer want cold drink from us, Coca-Cola is supplying."
