Throwback Thursday: 8 cool facts about midfield maestro Abia Nale

Briefly.co.za presents another Throwback Thursday edition and now its the turn of former Kaizer Chiefs player Abia Nale.

Sehloho Abia Nale was born on October 5, 1986.

Nale's hometown is Sebokeng in the Vaal, the same area which was home to former Orlando Pirates star, Steve Lekoalea.

Coincidentally, Nale spent much of his youth at Pirates, as well as Burning Spear FC.

Among the many clubs Nale represented, one of them no longer exists - former PSL champions Manning Rangers.

2009 was a promising year for Nale as he was signed by Soweto Giant Kaizer Chiefs.

He earned his first call-up with the national team, Bafana Bafana, in the same year.

Briefly.co.za learnt through Diski365 that Vladimir Vermezovic once got Nale to shed tears after some harsh words.

Nale is passsionate about giving back to his community and runs a development team in Sebokeng.

The veteran midfielder started the Abia Nale Foundation to empower Vaal communities through community based programmes and soccer tournaments.
