Xolani Gwala, the popular radio host, has passed away after his battle with colon cancer.
His family shared the tragic announcement on Radio 702 on the morning of Friday, 1 November.
In July last year, the radio's station manager revealed that Xolani was winning his fight against cancer and that he was in remission.
His death came as a shock to his fans, according to TimesLIVE.
About a year ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Xolani opened up about his cancer battle and said it was hell after doctors diagnosed him in August, 2017.
The late radio personality underwent six cycles of chemotherapy and several operations during his fight against the disease.
Xolani, at the time, said he was grateful that he could afford the treatment and for his family and friends.
"The lesson is to be grateful."
