Queen Elizabeth II is one of the most powerful people in the world and this comes with a lot of privileges. The position she occupies commands not just great influence, it comes with some shocking exempt rights.
Briefly.co.za has gathered some of the privileges the Queen has enjoyed over the past 63 years.
Here are therefore six powers of the Queen:
1. The queen does not have a passport
It would be interesting to note that the Queen does not have a passport to travel to anywhere in the world. What this means is that she is exempted from normal immigration clearance.
2. She has her own ATM machine
According to Heart, Queen Elizabeth has her private money dispensing machine which was installed in the basement of Buckingham Palace by Uber Post Bank Coutts.
3. She owns all the British fishes
This is one of her weird privileges. She has a total ownership over all the Fishes Royal which covers all aquatic animals in the UK waters.
4. The Queen has two birthdays
She celebrates one for April 21, 1926 and the other she does in June. The latter celebration was a result of a tradition started by George II in 1748.
5. Queen Elizabeth does not pay tax
Though it was said that the Queen by law is not required to pay tax, she has been doing so since 1992 as willing way to do “her fair share”.
6. The Queen is not bound by Freedom of Information Act
With this, she does not owe anyone to release information about herself or that of any member of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that the Queen celebrated Nigeria on its Independence Day anniversary as it clocked 59, in a special message.
In a tweet by the United Kingdom consulate in Nigeria on Tuesday, October 1, the Queen said it really gives her great pleasure to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari on the celebration of the country's national day.
The Queen also added that it is her best wishes that Nigeria prospers as it enters the new year.
