- Singer Mariah Carey's hit Christmas song, 'All I Want For Christmas is You', turned twenty-five years old today
- The song is taken off the five-time Grammy winner's 'Merry Christmas' album
- The album was re-released today as a two-disc deluxe edition and Carey has planned a series of Christmas concerts to celebrate
The song, All I Want For Christmas is You, has sold 16 million copies worldwide since 1994 and amassed more than 550 million views on Youtube.
The witty and timeless Carey acknowledges the huge success of the song, but don't you dare allude to her age while complimenting her about it.
Carey is quoted as saying, "It's so funny, somebody was just asking me, 'What were you doing 25 Christmases ago?' ... I was just one year old, so I don't know!"
Apart from the twenty-fifth anniversary of the hit single, you will never guess what - or who - else inspired Carey to schedule the Christmas shows.
None other than our resident bad boy turned gospel saint, rapper Kanye West.
TMZ caught up with Carey as she was leaving a Halloween party in New York City.
She told the reporters that she was blown away by West featuring her song, My All, at one of his Sunday services recently.
Carey had previously tweeted that Kanye's choir was "killing this arrangement and song!" and added, "I neeeed to speak to whoever put the arrangement together and rewrote the lyrics.. Beautiful. Thank you."
Carey is currently preparing for the tour and tickets are on sale already.
There will be ten shows in total and the first show will take in Las Vegas on 22 November.
Fans are super excited at the announcement and are determined to get All I Want For Christmas is You on the charts again and back to number one.
The twenty-five-year-old album 'Merry Christmas' has already entered Top 10 on iTunes.
