- Kanye West has been professing the gospel for some time now
- Renowned American pastor Joel Osteen has given him a direct invite to his Lakewood Church
- The Jesus Is King hitmaker is expected to visit the church in a few weeks' time where he will perform his new track
Months after American rapper-turned-gospel singer Kanye West publicly declared his belief in the gospel, he is now set to go a notch higher after he received an invite to visit Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, America.
Kanye will be visiting Osteen's megachurch, Lakewood, which reaches hundreds of millions globally during Sunday services.
According to TMZ, Kanye has been in constant communication with the renowned pastor who genuinely loves the rapper and is proud of the difficulties he has overcome to become a strong believer in Jesus Christ.
"There is no scheduled date for Kanye to come to Lakewood. Kanye plans to come to a service in the near future, but no date has been set yet," Donald Illoff, an executive at Joel Osteen Ministries, said.
The pastor did not ask him to perform a track from his Jesus Is King album but sources say Osteen would be thrilled to have him take the stage in his famous church.
Kanye recently released his much anticipated Jesus Is King album after it was postponed twice, leaving fans frustrated.
The new gospel singer revealed he had ordered his staff working on the album to refrain from premarital sex and focus more on fasting.
His socialite wife, Kim Kardashian, has been supporting him in his new faith.
