Win-win for customers as Takealot pays out R4m after Springbok win

The online retail store Takealot ran a promotion before the Rugby World Cup promising to refund customers who bought certain Samsung TVs but on one condition that the Springboks win the Rugby World Cup.

346 customers took Talealot up on the offer and now the online store is going to honour its promise and is going to make a whopping R4m payout.

The Springboks made the nation proud and 346 Takealot customers very happy when they devastated the English rugby team with a 32-12 victory in Yokohama, Japan.

“All 346 shoppers … will be refunded the full value of their purchasing price. Just under 400 units across three different Samsung TV sets were made available, and collectively, amounted to R4m, which will all be refunded to Bok fans,” the company said.

A fairy-tale world cup final was made complete when photos surfaced of Siya Kolisi's dad watching, the pride etched on his face, as his son made rugby history.
