- There will be two memorials, one hosted by the family and one by Radio 702
Xolani Gwala's family has released a statement in which they shared details about the late radio personality's funeral and memorial. Xolani passed away after fighting a hard battle with cancer.
According to the statement, there will be two memorials to remember the adored host and the way he touched the lives of others.
His family will host one memorial service and Radio 702 will host the other.
As reported on by News24, Xolani's burial will take place in his hometown, Impendle in KwaZulu-Natal on 9 November.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the family has asked that all his admirers who wish to send him flowers should instead donate to the Teddy Bear Foundation.
"A kind request from the family is for no flowers to be sent to the family home, Xolani's heartfelt request was that instead of flowers, he would appreciate donations to the Teddy Bear Foundation to be made in his name."
The details are as follows:
Prayer service on 4 November between 6pm and 8pm at St Michael's Anglican Church, Bryanston.
Memorial service on 6 November between 10am and 1pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Rivonia Catholic Church, Sandton.
Radio 702's memorial service will be held on 7 November between 10am and 1pm at a venue yet to be announced.
