Hulisani Ravele, local child star and TV personality, isn't feeling very safe as a woman in South Africa.

She shared on social media that she had fired her contractor who was working on renovations at her home because he made her feel uncomfortable.

The man, whom she chose not to name, requested a kiss from her and Hulisani made the choice to rather end their working relationship than feel threatened or scared.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the presenter shared a snapshot of the message she sent to the contractor to end their agreement, asking him to not contact her again.

"Just another day for a woman in SA. This happened on Friday. I thought about it so much since then, questioning if I did something wrong, when, how. I’d worked with him before on something for my place, so the trust was there. When the kiss request came I was ... Ja neh."

Hulisani fears that women are far from feeling safe in Mzansi. She remains hopeful that it will happen one day though.

Although speaking up can be difficult, Hulisani urges SA ladies to do so, for the sake of all women.

"Ladies, I know speaking up for yourself is never easy and the circumstances don't always lend themselves to you being able to do so. But where you can, do. Not just for yourself, but for the next sister who won't be able to speak up or stand up or fight off an entitled pig like this."
