Chillax peeps, SABC1’s Uzalo soapie ain’t going anywhere. The SABC has ironed out the rumours and there is no longer a need to panic.

Uzalo is definitely one of the favourite Mzansi soapies. Fans are consumed by the drama and invested in the characters – cancelling the show would leave them devastated.

Briefly.co.za learnt that rumours went around stating that Uzalo was about to come to an end as the SABC’s contract with Stained Glass Pictures had expired and was not going to be renewed.

TshisaLIVE tried to get some answers from cast members and were apparently told that they were not allowed to say a word as they would then be in breach of contract.

Luckily Vuyo Mthembu, the acting SABC spokesperson, has come forward and made it clear that Uzalo is here to stay.

Vuyo made it clear that the SABC was under no obligation to give a statement but felt that it was needed as the rumours had gotten a tad out of hand.

Stained Glass Pictures were asked to answer any further questions as it was not the place of the SABC to do so.

The production company then released a statement outlining that their contract with the SABC is only up for renewal in October 2020 and that they would not be commenting on anything further.
