Mzansi rapper Rouge caused quite the stir on social media today when she proclaimed herself as the best female in the SA hip-hop game.

There was no indication as to what triggered her to make this statement but she was one of the female rappers who did not get a nod for the 2019 SA Hip Hop Awards. Those who were nominated were Nadia Nakai, Gigi Lamayne, Bizzcut and Assessa.

The Dololo rapper took to Twitter and wrote: “Honestly speaking, I am the best female in the game.

According to SA Hip Hop magazine, Rouge released two singles this year, Bazigally and Popular. She announced that she is working on an album which is supposed to include some of the biggest names in the industry. She is currently working on the music video for Popular.

Rouge's tweet gathered more than 2.8k likes, 401 retweets and 335 comments.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported earlier today that AKA had dropped some advice with the female artists in the rap industry on how they push their careers to new heights.

According to him, all they need is a side of beef to stew with their fellow musos. The rapper gave his opinion on Twitter, in reaction to Rouge Rapper saying she's the best female in the game.

"Finally. Now can y’all also please stop pretending like you’re all friends because we know that isn’t the case. This buddy-buddy sh*t isn’t gonna fly."
