The final proved to be Erasmus' final match in charge as head coach and he vacates the position in grand style.
The World Cup winning coach celebrated his birthday and was blessed with early gifts over the weekend as his team won the Rugby World Cup and he was named as coach of the year.
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi provided further gloss to the celebrations as he shared a heart-warming message with Erasmus.
Kolisi shared two beautiful photos via Instagram and revealed the role that Erasmus played in his development.
Kolisi's post explained that Erasmus believed in him during his school days and their working relationship through Western Province rugby and the Springbok team.
The Bok captain rounded off his post by saying, "Uliqhawe lamaqhawe Mqeqeshi Rassie!"
