In an age when football coaches are always looking over their shoulder, the relationship between Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela and chairperson Mato Madlala makes for a refreshing change.

The Arrows mentor was lauded by the club head honcho as Madlala explained what she admires about Komphela and how he gives her peace of mind.

Komphela has steadied the ship at Arrows by consistently keeping them in the top seven in the league, but has also inspired his players to two cup semifinal appearances within seven months.

However, KickOFF.com reported that Madlala's admiration for Komphela isn't purely based on results.

She said, "He's a hard worker, his job doesn't start and end at training, he can call around 23h00 at night talking about football, talking about his visions for the club."

The football executive explained that Komphela's hunger for success allows her to sleep peacefully at night.

Madlala added, "So when you have such leaders with a positive attitude, as a club owner you relax because you know your team is in good hands."

Briefly.co.za gathered that Madlala felt the heartache of cup disappointments previously, but still secretly hopes for silverware success in the near future.

Madlala added, "I will see when it happens, but in everything we do we have dreams. If you don't have a dream you might as well die so I do still wish to see Arrows achieving something."
