The life of veteran broadcaster Xolani Gwala is being celebrated far and wide today as many gathered at the Grace House Family Church in Randburg to pay their respects.
Xolani passed away on 1 November after a long battle with the silent killer - cancer. His passing has left a gaping hole in many hearts.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Xolani’s memorial took place this morning where family, friends and fans gathered to celebrate his life.
Yesterday, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Rivonia, Xolani’s closest friends and family gathered to pay tribute – it was a very emotional event.
Xolani’s daughter stepped forward to pay her respects and express the love she had for her father in a heartbreaking speech.
A close family member spoke on behalf of Xolani’s other children, expressing their grief, thanks and love.
“Dear daddy, we miss you and all our special time together. Our hearts are not well because every day we wake up, you are not with us. Even Simba, our little dog, is wondering where you are,” read the family member on behalf of Xolani’s children.
On Saturday, in his hometown of Impendle in KwaZulu-Natal, is when and where Xolani will be laid to rest.
Xolani’s memorial has been trending on social media.
