Armed robbery foiled in shopping centre - Mzansi lauds brave cops

Mitchells Plain in Cape Town epitomises life on the notorious Cape Flats and recent videos revealed the scourge of crime that plagues the area.

Patrons at Promenade Mall feared for their lives as gun shots filled the air in broad daylight on Thursday morning.

Briefly.co.za understands that a group of armed thugs attempted a robbery at one of the stores within the shopping centre.

Unfortunately, South Africans hear about these events all too often, but this story had a happy ending as the robbers were foiled.

In fact, the culprits were arrested as well and taken into custody by the efficient police officers.

Yusuf Abramjee (@Abramjee) shared two videos via Twitter which showcased the bravery of the cops as well as the security guards.

Peter (@Peter28663946) wanted the cops to get the recognition they deserve:

"Lovely. Can these officers get promotions?"

Eric (@Eric02038298) commended the officers:

"Haabaswe big up SAPS."

Joseph Padi (@PadiJosephPapas) called for drastic action:

"You should Killed them....Coz the Magestrate will say Lack of evidence.... then they will strike back."

"It's like the woman in black is watch the execution of her plan just to make sure everything goes well."
