A Sunday Independent report claims that Senzo Meyiwa was 'mistakenly shot', allegedly by one of the seven individuals present in Kelly Khumalo's home.

The latest in the controversial case has seen witnesses accused of fabricating a robbery gone wrong in a bid to cover up the crime.

Briefly.co.za reported that those implicated reportedly include senior police officers. Meyiwa had allegedly attempted to break up a fight between Kelly's sister Zandi and her lover, Longwe Twala.

Kelly insists that she's not to blame for the soccer star's death even when it seems millions of people think so.

Recently, the singer spoke up about the allegations made against her. Here's what she had to say to the newspaper article:

"For that independent newspaper: how dare you? When you go out of your way and write something so false and untrue. At the end of the day, I promise you this, you will have egg on your face.
"I’ve spoken about the Senzo Meyiwa issue so many times but people have decided they want me guilty. Why defend myself? They must believe what they want to believe.
"Me and God know the truth. One thing I will never do is protect someone who killed my daughter's father. They can believe whatever they want to believe. At the end of the day, God still wins."
