- Former SuperSport United player Thamsanqa Teyise learnt his fate after being on trial at Chippa United for a few weeks
- The Chilli Boys opted not to offer Teyise a contract so his search for a club will continue
- Chippa stated that the 33-year-old did well, but not enough to warrant a contract
Veteran defender Thamsanqa Teyise was on trail at Chippa United for a few weeks in the hope of being signed by the Chilli Boys.
The 33-year-old drew on all of his Premier Soccer League experience as he attempted to make an impression on coach Norman Mapeza.
Unfortunately, Briefly.co.za learnt that the club reached a decision and Teyise was not awarded a contract.
KickOFF.com reported that Teyise's trial went well, but that he just failed to crack the nod.
A Chippa United official said, "I think he did well but not enough to win a contract with the club. He is not signing with us."
The experienced defender is quite the journeyman as he previously represented the likes of SuperSport United, Ajax Cape Town and Maritzburg United, amongst others.
It's been a tough campaign for the Chilli Boys, but they collected their first win when they defeated AmaZulu on Saturday.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the players are making the most of the international break in preparation for their clash with Black Leopards on the 27th November..
