A traveler took to social media to post a photo of a cracked plane window. He noticed that crack was fixed with tape and this raised his concerns. Many social media users were appalled by the picture while others share their own similar experiences.
Twitter user Mahamosam from India shared the photo along with the caption:
"Spicejet flight SG8152 (VT-SYG) Mumbai to Delhi flying (5 Nov 2019) with a broken window stuck with cello tape. Isn't it a major safety concern? Anyone listening?"
His post went viral online as many voiced their concerns. Twitter user Mohan_Rngnathan said:
"Inner pane crack is acceptable( if I remember right!). There are altitude restrictions"
"If any sticky tape can support that force, I'll buy a years supply for use around the house"
"Fear mongering at it's best. It's the inside pannel of the window which is not air tight, it's perfectly alright"
Others shared their own experiences of plane break downs repaired with tape.
