- Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi teamed up with UN Women SA on a gender-based violence awareness campaign
- Men have been asked to write love letters to women which will be made into an outfit that Zozi will wear to create awareness
- People feel that love letters are simply just not enough
Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi is at it again, doing her bit to help stop gender-based violence and create awareness.
Being Miss SA comes with a lot of responsibility and many opportunities, and Zozi is definitely using these to her full advantage and in the best interest of the people.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Zozi has partnered up with UN Women SA on a beautiful and empowering campaign called #HeForShe.
The campaign is to raise awareness of gender-based violence. One of the things Zozi has asked is for men to write love letters to women and send them through.
Zozi will be making these love letters into an outfit which she will wear as her national costume in the Miss Universe pageant.
"I am asking men to write love letters to the women of South Africa. Those letters will be inscribed onto ribbons of fabric that will be used to form a part of my national costume. So in essence, I will be wearing a love letter from SA men to Women," explained Zozi.
Our beautiful Miss SA hopes that these letters will trigger change, evoke conversation and promote support.
Despite Zozi’s belief in the campaign, there have been many points of concern raised – people believe the letters are simply just not enough to stop the epidemic or to even put a dent in the need for change.
