Swindon Town FC forward Eoin Doyle scored a brace to inspire his side to a 3-2 win over Salford City in Saturday's English Football League Two encounter at Moor Lane.

The victory helped the Robins maintain their leadership on the table with 33 points after 18 matches - two points better than second-placed team Forest Green.

Doyle's two goals in the match, however, increased his goal tally to 16 goals in 17 appearances - same as Bayern Munich prolific scorer Robert Lewandowski.

Manchester United target Erling Haaland is next with 15 goals in just 12 appearances so far this campaign.

Meanwhile, the duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have just 13 goals since the start of the 2019/20 season. Meaning that they have fewer goals than the Irish man.

The Barcelona star has eight goals to his credit while his arch-rival boosts of just five goals in all competitions so far.

Although, it is worthy to note that Messi started the season late having had to battle nagging calf injury for a couple of months.

But the duo will give their best to be able to match the numbers the lower league star has achieved in the ongoing league season.

Doyle is currently on a season-long loan deal at the Moor Lane from his parent club Bradford City, but the Robins are likely to try making his deal permanent in January according to SunSport.
