President Cyril Ramaphosa turned 67 on Sunday, 17 November.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that South Africans took to social media to wish President Cyril Ramaphosa a happy birthday.
Now, it's the turn of the African National Congress to follow suit as the party helped their leader celebrate his big day.
The ruling party took to Facebook and shared some lovely photos and a short video to showcase some of the festivities.
Some of the ANC's senior leaders joined Ramaphosa at their headquarters at Chief Albert Luthuli House to partake in the celebration.
Big guns such as Gwede Mantashe, David Mabuza and Ace Magashule were all in attendance and were treated to premium birthday cake.
The post drew a strong reaction from the public, but some took the opportunity to air their concerns regarding some of the issues plaguing the nation.
Tsoanka Madimetsa Godfrey Mashishi rallied behind the president:
"United we stand, divided we fall... My top six... Happy belated birthday my president."
Ngwa'mangotlo Oseke Msane shared a tongue-in-cheek comment:
"Belated birthday to my President Cyril Ramaphosa. I’m asking for a slice of cake."
Mzantsi Msitshana was in no mood to party:
"Are we in the right leadership under president Ramaphosa? He is labelled as sellout like Mandela who suppose to lead ANC and the country? Even former president Zuma; Ace Magashule are praying for the downfall of this man. Please ANC clear and balance your constituents. Remember the world is looking up to the old movement in Africa."
