He won Song of the Year, Best Collaboration Performance and Best Dance Performance for his song No Guidance featuring rapper Drake.
Brown was not present at the awards ceremony, but he tweeted out a message of appreciation.
30-old Brown wrote, "Thank You God. Thank You for supporting me. I love You. It means the world to me."
31-year-old Lizzo won the award for Video of the Year for Juice.
She also won Album/Mixtape of the Year for Cuz I Love You.
She is currently on tour in Europe.
