Making SA proud: Teenage chefs win medal at Young Chefs Challenge

The South African Chefs Association is a non-profit organisation that has been representing chefs, cooks and caterers within Mzansi for over 40 years.

The organisation was clearly beaming with pride as they shared an inspirational Facebook post, which showcased the achievement of the SA Junior Culinary Team.

The young team of four recently participated at the Shanghai Young Chefs Challenge and walked away with the bronze medal.

The group of young chefs recently returned home to a heroes' welcome as they displayed their medals and trophies.

Briefly.co.za noted the positive response via social media as numerous South Africans heaped praise on the culinary team.

Stephen Paul Billingham shared his appreciation:

"Well done Young Chefs and thank you for being sound and proud ambassadors for SA Chefs."

Sidney Bond showed his sense of patriotism:

"Congratulations are in order, a young team of Chefs who have done South Africa proud."

Another local chef, Thapelo Chef Letsogo, valued the achievement:

"We are really proud of you.Thank you for bringing this medal into our SACA."

Elaine Cleghorn conveyed what it meant to the nation:

"And still S.A. shows the world we are achievers and WILL continue to achieve no matter what."
