Idols SA has concluded it's 15th season and Luyolo Yiba emerged as the winner, much to the joy of thousands of viewers and supporters.

The Kings William's Town lad beat Snenhlanhla Msomi for the top spot during the final and walked away with prizes worth over R1.5 million and a record deal to take his career to the next level.

Luyolo is hoping to make his dreams come true in South Africa's City of Gold - Johannesburg - and will be moving there.

Although Luyolo will be leaving his hometown behind, he still is very grateful for the support and love he has been receiving since his journey on Idols began.

Briefly.co.za gathered that residents of King William's Town braved the cold to watch the finale at a viewing location provided by the local ward committee.

TimesLIVE reported that Luyolo would return to the town and then head to Joburg.

"I thought of my family and my supporters, people who have supported me since day one. I know that some people only started voting for me in the finale, but I am still so grateful. I was just filled with gratitude and even now want to thank those who supported me."

Although he may have won himself a foot in the door, Luyolo knows that he has to work hard to chase his dreams and he is willing to work hard for them.

"I definitely still want to carry on with my music career as it is at the moment. I was performing before Idols SA, but I knew the competition would really kick-start my career in music."
