Top American rapper, Kanye West, has announced that he will be staging his first-ever opera, titled Nebuchadnezzar.
The rapper, who has just recently turned into a Christian devotee, said that he would be presenting the opera on Sunday, 24 November at the Hollywood Bowl, Evening Standard reports.
On his Twitter account, Kanye shared a sample of the golden ticket designed by Nick Knight and has an engraved image of the ancient Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar.
It should be noted that the opera will be directed by popular Italian artist, Vanessa Beecroft, a person who is said to have collaborated with Kanye on many projects.
The opera performance comes weeks after the father of four released his new album, Jesus is King, to much applause.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that the American rapper left prisoners in tears during a praise and worship session at Harris County jail in Texas, US.
It was gathered that Kanye on Sunday, 17 November led about 200 inmates and prison staff in prayers and songs. His worship session was said to have moved a lot of them into tears as he reached out to the innermost part of his soul to deliver a special performance.
The musician was accompanied by his choir that performed several songs from his recently launched album dubbed Jesus is King. The convicts from the correctional facility were immersed deep in worship.
In another related news, just weeks after Kanye West was accused of commercialising the gospel, Christians will be forced to obtain tickets again before attending his church service.
He was pitched his camp at evangelist Joel Osteen’s church on Sunday, 17 November.
The church, however, reached out to tickets provider, Ticketmaster, to give 45 000 tickets to the first people to arrive at the venue.
