- Another cash-in-transit heist took place on the N1 on Monday
- A motorist caught the aftermath on camera
- The footage shows locals looting what was left in the CIT van
A video surfaced online showing the aftermath of yet another cash-in-transit heist. According to South Africa Live, who posted the clip on Facebook, the heist took place on the N1 on Monday.
The footage was not about the heist itself but about what happened afterwards. Locals were seen flocking to the scene to take their share of what was left in the CIT van.
Sadly, it's not the first time something like this has happened and South Africans were left divided.
Briefly.co.za gathered some were outraged and saddened by the footage, while others said they would have done the same.
Quinton de Beer commented:
"Why can't this happen near me, I'm in there. I'm going to take off my shirt and make a rucksack."
Lesley Mbapantsi added:
"Sorry to be offside but I'm so disgusted by the way we do things. Every time such things happen companies will claim from the government - then it will rotate back to us poor people by paying more tax. At the end of the day investees will pull out and our economy will drop. People should think before they act. Hope the guards are still alive."
Gert Pretorius said:
"Much better than looting TVs and trying to sell them, this is instant cash."
Celeste Daphne Reyneke wrote:
"Where do they all come from? It's like magic."
