Kgomotso Maredi found herself struggling to find employment and without a cent to her name.
A few years ago she felt that she lacked direction and vision to reach for her dreams.
However, that all changed when family and friends wanted to arrange a surprise baby shower for her sister-in-law.
Without possessing the funds to hire a professional event planner, Kgomotso saw it as her cue to direct proceedings and pursue her passion.
Armed with eight old wooden pallets, and a small budget to work with, the innovative young lady acquired the necessary decor items.
The baby shower was a huge hit and Kgomotso promoted her work at no cost via social media.
Prospective clients loved photos of the event and she slowly started securing more and more business.
Kgomotso's passion for South African youth is driving her to hopefully employ other youngsters in the near future.
She shared her story with Briefly.co.za in the hope that it will drive others to pursue their passions, irrespective of their financial situations.
Kgomotso said, "Loving what you do and having passion in it, will help you achieve it through dedication too. I hope this will help those who are still lost and wonder how to do it. My main goal now is to go even bigger and employ other people too."
