Pitso Mosimane, the Mamelodi Sundowns coach, is one of the coaches nominated for the 2019 CAP Coach of the Year award.
The veteran coach has had a prestigious career and even helped coach Bafana Bafana during the 2010 soccer world cup.
Briefly.co.za has seen that the CAF Coach of the Year awards has some stiff competition. Mosimane will have Alious Cisse (Senegal coach), Gernot Rohr (Nigeria) and the current title holder of Africa Cup of Nations Djamel Belmadi.
Themba Zwane and Denis Onyango have also been nominated for the 2019 Interclubs Player of the Year award.
Mosimane is not the only coach representing South Africa in awards. Desiree Ellis, the Banyana Banyana head coach, has been nominated for the Women's Coach of the Year award according to soccerladuma.co.za.
Briefly.co.za reported on Mosimane throwing some shade on the Kaizer Chiefs, warning them that although they are at the top of the log at the moment, the season has just started and a lot can happen before May next year.
