Sowetan-raised actress Terry Pheto is making big waves in the entertainment world and making her fans and Mzansi extremely proud of her.
Recently, she added yet another accolade to her name - the Glamour Woman of the Year in TV and Film.
The Glamour Magazine TV and Film Awards ceremony took place at The Venue, Melrose Arch in Johannesburg and was aimed at celebrating women who made a difference in their chosen careers.
Glamour magazine stated that Terry is an icon to young women and serves to show that the 'Hollywood dream' can come true.
"Terry Pheto made it possible for young people to dream beyond SA borders, showing them that the Hollywood dream is attainable."
About her award, the actress has to say:
"I’m proud and honoured to be one of the GLAMOUR Women of the Year 2019 recipients. Thank you GLAMOUR Magazine for the recognition. Role models are important.
"Growing up I never had anyone that looked like me that I could aspire to follow in their footsteps in TV and film. I’m glad that today there are young people that can look at my journey and be inspired to do more."
Not only did Terry win many international and local awards during her career so far, but she is also the first South African who was celebrated at the British Urban Film Festival, as reported on by Briefly.co.za.
Terry is also the first African to have become a Family Member of Swiss watchmaking brand, Longines.
